This position involves more than just a "hands-off"
management style, and will require a true engineer to
meet the demands of the job. Preference will be given
to candidates with IP over satellite background,
strong background in hardware engineering for
communications, and management experience of groups of
30+ engineers. Candidates should have expertise in
wireless communications as well as planning and
managing complex software development projects. 10-15+
years of industry experience is required.
Specific responsibilities will include:
* Working with senior management to define system
requirements and development objectives.
* Day to day technical leadership of 40+ engineers and
staff
* Recruiting and retaining a high-quality engineering
staff
* Profit and loss responsibilities including following
project time and budget guidelines
